Interesting People Reading Poetry is an independent podcast where artists and changemakers read a favorite poem and talk about what it means to them. At the end of every episode, we check the Haiku Hotline for listener-submitted poems on a given theme.
Our first season ended in November 2017. We’ll be back in Spring 2018.

BRENDAN STERMER, producer, editor & host:
“I’m a writer & new media artist. I believe new media are only valuable to the extent that they facilitate the old media of conversation & introspection. Some of my recent projects include Manhood in Rural America, Contrary to Propriety, and Toki Wright: Hip-Hop Lyrics As Sacred Texts. I live in western Minnesota.”
ANDY STERMER, producer, editor & composer:
“I’m a composer. I think a lot about the relationship between art, culture, and sense of place, and like exploring those themes in my work. Recently, I’ve written scores for short films, choral music inspired by the prairie landscape, and a program of new work exploring the fusion of large jazz ensemble and Afro-Uruguayan candombe drumming.”
This podcast is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
