The Haiku Hotline is a miniature weekly poetry journal, solicited via text & voicemail. You can listen to this installment at the end of this episode.

Waiting for landfall.
Five days of water and food.
Hunkered down behind shutters
in Zone E.

Military Kid

Looking in,
looking out.

Not part of the town,
Part of the class.

Father gone,
Only for a while,
Father back, changed,
Not the same.

Friends come,
Then they leave,
Always different,
But the same.

Looking out,
Looking in.

Radio Show

Nick gave us his old stereo and his empty tape.
We spent hours explaining The Owls
And stomping our feet to make music.
In the other room, he was denouncing God,
Cutting his lips with the razor.
